Psalm 121

Where do you turn for aid when your world darkens and your trip becomes difficult?

What do you do to get the courage you need to confront life's challenges?

In such circumstances, Psalm 121 encourages us.“My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”Psalm 121 is a great source of hope for the beleaguered Christian, whose "support comes from the Lord" (verse 2). In verses 3–8, the psalmist turns to impart assurance to others after personally praising Yahweh's care in verses 1–2. In verses 3–4, he explores the characteristics of God's protective role: "He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.""Behold, He who keeps Israel will not sleep or rest."

Psalm 121 Amplified Version

1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills [of Jerusalem]— From where shall my help come? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to slip; He whPo keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber [briefly] nor sleep [soundly].

5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade on your right hand. 6 The sun will not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your life. 8 The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in [everything that you do] From this time forth and forever.

The Lord provides all of your assistance; He is your refuge and your strength.

Remember that God is always available and wants you to seek Him out in times of distress, when you may be under attack or despair. Keep your eyes fixed on the Lord in all your suffering; nothing is too difficult for Him, and who is mightier than our God?Nothing catches Him off guard; as the psalmist says, He never sleeps or slumbers. There is never a moment when God is not available to you; He alone is more than ENOUGH, and Jesus is the answer to any obstacle you may face.

Would God, who created heaven, earth, and everything else, not know how to look after it? Is it possible that the creator is unaware of His creation?Of course not, and just like those He created you and knows what you need. Remember, He is the potter, and you are the clay, so instead of going to everyone else, why not go to the One who created it all? God is your fortress, your shield, and your buckler; how delightful it is to rest in the Lord's love and safety.
